A Shared World
Artworks in the show Shared World tells stories from our small world´s point of view in the galactic scale.
In his oeuvre Janne Hokkanen handles the whole biosphere of our globe, which he mirrors through evolution of species through millions of years. With his art he wants to remind us how special it is to be alive and that we are all responcible of life on earth. Our endless need of resources affects nature´s ecosystems.
In her most recent paintings Anna-Liisa Kankaanmäki covers themes of degradation of the biodiversity and decreasing of greenspaces. In her paintings people are trying to get back to disappearing nature. Through her works she asks question what are the vestiges that humans leave compared to the landscapes of the romantic era.
