Over the Rainbow
Jarmo Palola’s solo exhibition at Gallery Aarni features simplistic painted, understated landscapes. The works are the result of the author’s imagination and include a questioning of the relationship between the image and reality. The tradition of painting has been present in the process as well as a reflection on the work as an object in this time. The end result is a serial ensemble of landscape images that challenge the viewer to reflect on the images, memories, and meanings they produce. The works are oil paintings on MDF board.
Jarmo Palola (b.1970) is a painter and visual artist living and working in Espoo. He has a Master of Arts degree from the University of Arts and Design Helsinki. Palola has had several solo exhibitions and he has participated many group exhibitions since 1995. He is a member of Finnish Painters Union and Espoo Visual Arts association.
