Studies of Accretion
Welcome to the opening tue 4.10. 17-19
The weir of Lake Oulujärvi has caused eutrophication and accretion of land on its shores. My work studies both the beauty and the ugliness this process brings about.
In this series of silksceen prints coincidental marks capture the transient nature of a place where different elements wrestle for territory. This technique allows me to reproduce the fleeting moments of water and foliage intertwining in unrepeatable patterns. Each print is a reminiscense of vegetation moving in synchrony with the ever-changing waves on the shoreline.
