Welcome to the opening ceremonies 27.3.2024 at 17-20. <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

“Peace is an art exhibition about world peace, peace of mind, peace of soul, bridges between people and connection with oneself. The artists of the exhibition have approached the theme of peace in a broad field of well-being. The works of the exhibition are graphics, installations, properly painted paintings, pictures, photos and crocheted applied art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We wish the world a calming sense of community, and that’s why, also various workshops are available for guests. At the exhibition, you can participate in the Kanssakulkijat crochet workshops<\/strong><\/a> and Peace of mind walkings in the forest in the  Nuuksio nature park.<\/a><\/strong>

ARTISTS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maiju Ahlgr\u00e9n<\/strong>
– I am a textile artist (MA) from the Helsinki University of Art and Design (later Aalto University).
Textile production techniques and history are my mother tongue. Since then, I have expanded my language skills as an artist, e.g. to community art.
I am inspired by the spaces and situations where you can come across works of art by chance. During my working career, I have made works for hospitals, nursing homes and street space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Olavi Fellman<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Xinsheng Li<\/strong>
– I am a Chinese artist and have a Master’s degree in Fine Arts from China (MA). I\u00b4ve lived in Finland for 18 years. I\u00b4m a member of the Painters’ Union, Espoo Artists Association.
My works are characterized by serenity and harmony, which come from my soul. I have peace with nature and freedom from the shackles of society. My spirit is immersed in mountains, streams and other natural phenomena.
In the paintings in this exhibition, I strive to create a utopia of life that shines in the wondrous light of fairy tales.  The dust of the heart is wiped clean in this light. In the RAUHA exhibition, my paintings offer the opportunity to experience the life of a hermit. Every moment can be wonderfully illuminated. The song of birds in the morning, the return of crows at dusk, the splendor of spring flowers, the lightness of summer clouds, falling leaves in autumn, bright snow in winter; every flower, every tree, every moment of life brings us insights and touches us.
Chinese painting and calligraphy are closely related. I started practicing Chinese calligraphy and reading poetry as a young child. Chinese poetry gives my work its spirit and rhythm, calligraphy its technique.
When I paint, I don’t just think about how the brush moves in my hand, I listen to the sound of my soul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maaria M\u00e4rk\u00e4l\u00e4<\/strong><\/strong>
Maaria M\u00e4rk\u00e4l\u00e4 is a Finnish painter. She lives in Espoo and works in Helsinki. Her artwork has been purchased to several public and private art collections in Finland and abroad. 
Paintings created in a studio may contain several layers that the viewer knows nothing about; in the bottom there may be, for example, bursts of frustration familiar to everyone, forming a base for the landscape. M\u00e4rk\u00e4l\u00e4 wants to paint, to bring out the good on the top, so the process must end in something hopeful, full of oxygen and life, light, even what is beautiful.
Pigeons flew to M\u00e4rk\u00e4l\u00e4’s recent works. She wishes for peace and justice in the world and she believes that if you use pink, your dreams will come true. M\u00e4rk\u00e4l\u00e4 is known for her charity projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
