Welcome to the opening ceremonies 4.3.2025 at 17-19.
Helka Immonen paints abstract paintings with oil colors on linen. She paints without plans or sketches. The artist’s working process is intuitive, as if probing or anticipating hints and suggestions from the canvas.
In Immonen’s paintings, inner experiences are often related to natural phenomena such as changes in weather, the passing of time, or visual elements and forms seen in nature. Color has an essential role in forming the subject matter of Immonen’s paintings. The hues, the sensations, and the spaces they create form an infinite source of inspiration to her.
